Warm, but a bit more heavy and coarse than expected.

This piece is a long rectangle with pockets (handy) on each end. I purchased it for my elderly mother. I thought it would be easy for her to slip this over her shoulders for warmth, as arthritis has made it very hard for her to maneuver her arms into a sweater. The pockets are really handy for all of those treasures that grandmas always have available -- tissues for a child's sniffle, masks for a venture to lunch. The shawl is, however, fairly heavy and she has trouble with donning something of this heft and is not always comfortable wearing it. It is also fairly scratchy, which is tough on her delicate skin. While this didn't work well for my purpose, it is beautiful like all Lapuan Kankurit textiles and a great addition to a winter wardrobe -- in this case for me if not mom.
